The Inventory Accountant ensures accurate and timely inventory reporting, compliance with regulatory standards, and efficient inventory management. Responsibilities include reconciling inventory reports, overseeing stock counts, and improving processes. Working closely with the Supply Chain team, the Inventory Accountant identifies control gaps and develops action plans to boost productivity and maintain risk-free inventory records.
3. Key Duties/Responsibilities:
Accurate & Timely Inventory Reporting:
- Reconcile inventory reports, including Trial Balance, raw material, finished goods, packaging, POSM, spare parts, pallets, and write-offs.
- Monitor and control stock movements using inventory movement reports.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate inventory records to prevent unexpected audit findings (IFRS & GIAD audits).
- Review and resolve abnormal transactions in the inventory book.
- Track, record write-offs and obsolete inventory, follow up on the status of supplier claims.
Inventory Activities:
- Oversee stock counts and review historical documents for accuracy.
- Review and update inventory Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and processes.
- Identify control gaps and collaborate with the Supply Chain (SC) team to develop action plans.
Enhance Efficient Inventory Management:
- Initiate improvements to enhance team and organizational productivity.
- Implement automation to streamline processes and improve productivity.
- Proactively research, learn, and engage with stakeholders to build strong relationships, understand business transactions, and provide informed advice.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Classify and maintain accounting documents according to relevant regulations.
- Participate in meetings and undertake tasks assigned by superiors as required.
